Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be an open bar?

Of course. Feel free to bring cash, only for tipping our bartenders, as we’ll have the same three all night.

What time should we arrive to Rock Island Lake Club?

Our ceremony begins at 5:30pm.

Have you reserved hotel room blocks?

Yes, please see the Hotel, Shuttle and Travel page for additional information, plus booking links and phone numbers.

Can I bring a date?

We have allocated plus-ones to those the space will allow for. Please reference who the save the date and/or invitation were addressed to. When RSVPing, only those on our guest list will appear when searched. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Are children welcome?

No. This will be an adult only event, with no children allowed at the ceremony, cocktail “hour,” or reception. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Is it OK to take pictures with our phones or cameras during the wedding?

During the ceremony, no thank you. A QR code will be provided during the cocktail “hour” and reception for guests to upload their images from the rest of the night though, so feel free to snap away once we’re Mr. and Mrs.!

What will the weather be like? What will be inside and outside?

May in New Jersey can be cool and windy to legit hot, so please keep an eye on the weather. Weather permitting, our ceremony will be lakefront, which means it could be cooler and windier there. The cocktail “hour” is placed in an inside/outside level, where the garage doors can be opened or closed based off the weather. The reception will be inside, though the fire pit and balcony will be available outside all night long.

What should I wear?

This is a cocktail required event. Dresses, nice shoes, suits, ties, etc. are strongly suggested. No jeans, t-shirts or casual clothing allowed, please and thank you. If you feel so inclined, we would love for our guests to partake in our wedding colors based on how you know the bride or groom!

Family — If you are related to the bride or groom, feel free to wear NAVY outfits or a pop of it in the form of shoes, purses, accessories, ties, pocket squares, socks, etc.

Childhood — If you met the bride or groom when they were a child, feel free to wear TEAL outfits or a pop of it in the form of shoes, purses, accessories, ties, pocket squares, socks, etc.

College — If you met the bride or groom when they were in college, feel free to wear RUST outfits or a pop of it in the form of shoes, purses, accessories, ties, pocket squares, socks, etc.

Adulthood — If you met the bride or groom when they were an adult, feel free to wear ROSE outfits or a pop of it in the form of shoes, purses, accessories, ties, pocket squares, socks, etc.

Where should I park?

There is limited park at Rock Island Lake Club, so please only plan on driving to RILC if absolutely necessary. You can leave cars overnight in the lower level of the parking lot, if needed, but they need to be removed by noon Saturday.

Reminder, guest shuttles will be provided from the two hotels to Rock Island Lake Club and back. Again, please plan accordingly, as there are limited Ubers and Lyfts in the area.

Is Rock Island Lake Club wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely, yes. Please let us know if you need any additional accessibility items, so we can accommodate.

What should I do if I have an allergy or dietary restriction?

Make sure the bride and groom know! We will have many gluten-free, dairy free, egg free, soy free, vegetarian and vegan options throughout the night. Within our entree options, cheese can be removed from the Chicken Rossini upon request to make it dairy free and the Braised Lamb Shank can have the polenta made dairy free upon request. NOTE: The Rock Island Lake Club kitchen is not Kosher or entirely free of allergens.
